Organizational Behavior Management
Organizational behavior management (OBM) is an important aspect of management which applies psychological principles of organizational behavior and the experimental analysis of behavior to organizations to improve individual and group performance and worker safety. A critical orientation towards management and organizational history has at least three aspects: first, a historical critique of mainstream management and organizational research and teaching; second, a critical view of mainstream business history and management history; and finally, an assessment and critique of the treatment of history in critical management studies (CMS).The course examines organizations from the perspectives of the individual, the group, and the organizational system, with a focus on human behavior as well as organizational structures and processes. Graduates of the Leadership and Organizational Management major will leave the University of Guelph equipped with a range of knowledge and competencies that prepare them to meet the leadership and management needs of the future in such roles as management consultant, human resource practitioner, talent management specialist or as future general managers.Benedictine University is dedicated to the education of undergraduate and graduate students from diverse ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds.
